Siblings are God's way of saying, "I am blessing you with a lifelong friend." Getting a sister is God's way of saying, "you deserve someone truly special."
Over the past two weekends my family and I celebrated two very special birthdays; mine and my sisters'! Born three years and eight days apart affords us the opportunity to plan and share our birthdays together. The weekend following my birthday on September 28th was spent with my sister in Dania Beach. I had to be there for a conference however we turned it into a weekend getaway.
The area where the conference was hosted was gorgeous. There were shops and restaurants and activities for us to do all within walking distance. We ate too much, walked a lot, shopped a lot, saw a comedy show and a movie, and stayed up so late I lost track of time. The best part was just being with my sister. When the two of us get together, nothing else in the world matters. We soak up fun, joy and peace and then pour into each other love, grace, patience and kindness!
This past weekend we gathered together again to celebrate my sister's October 8th birthday! When I think of my sister, I think of her as strong, dynamic, loving, caring, kind, and giving. If you were to meet her for the first time, you'd swear you've know her for years. She treats everyone like they are her best friend. My sister brings life and light to any room she enters yet she does not have to be the center of attention. She loves her family....every last crazy one of us and always has a word of encouragement to share.
I have said it before and I will say it again! My sister is a true Queen and to me, she is the best person I know! To the moon and back, Sis! Happy Birthday to you!!!
